Sport Eligibility
CRATER SPORTS ELIGIBILITY
In order for an athlete to be cleared to play a fall, winter, or spring sport their online athletic registration must be complete and a current OSAA sports physical on file in the Athletic Office. Sports physicals are good for two years. The athlete may not practice/participate until cleared by the Crater Athletic office.
**Athletes are required to be covered by health insurance. If needed, low cost school insurance can be purchased through Myers-Stevens & Toohey 1-800-827-4695, www.myers-stevens.com.
Parents are responsible for reporting medical or insurance changes to the school.
To compete it must be determined that the athlete meets the academic requirements of the school, district, and state (O.S.A.A.) as stated in the Code of Conduct.

Crater Athletic Eligibility System change:
In addition to the “on track to graduate” credit requirements for athletic eligibility, according to OSAA rule 8.1.1, athletes must also be “a full time student who is one that is enrolled in high school, attending regularly and passing” the required number of courses.
To better ensure that Crater High School is meeting the rule 8.1.1 requirement, we are implementing target dates in addition to end of term grades for checking academic eligibility with a one week opportunity for students to prove they are passing the required number of courses. After that week they will be ineligible until they can show they are passing. Responsibility will lie with the student to bring documentation to the athletic office from their teachers to show that they are eligible.
Our school operates on quarter grading periods, the dates below will be used for eligibility purposes on our campus.
